Biomass boilers are a business asset
Businesses change, move and sometimes cease trading – so the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme allows used biomass boilers to move and/or change hands.
When the used boiler is moved or sold, the RHI tariff remains at the original level of installation.
As RHI payments were higher at the start of the scheme in some circumstances it can be more beneficial for new projects to consider a second-hand biomass boiler with a higher tariff rather than a new biomass boiler.
This created a market for second-hand biomass boilers.
The seller benefits as they invested in a low-carbon technology and can sell the system at a higher price than would have been the case without the RHI tariff
We manage the selling, moving, buying and installing of biomass boilers
With over 20 years of experience in installing and maintaining biomass boilers, AB Energy Centre is well-placed to help with the sale, move and installation of used biomass boilers.
We have already completed a number of these types of installs, and have local experts available to help with completing the required RHI paperwork to change the ownership of the systems and the RHI account.
There are over 18,000 commercial systems currently receiving RHI payments, so second-hand systems do become available from time to time.
As the go-to Biomass installers and maintenance engineers in the North of England and Scotland we are contacted by existing biomass owners about selling their systems from time to time.
If you are interested in buying or selling a secondhand biomass system, contact us to see how we can assist you.
